A Halloween countdown timer for your webshop
Halloween is one of the biggest shopping weeks of the autumn. Halloween Countdown puts a small, spooky timer in the corner of your website that counts the days, hours, minutes and seconds to 31 October. It reminds every visitor that your Halloween sale is coming, and gives them a reason to come back.
You add it with one line of code, and it works on Shopify, WooCommerce, Dandomain, Shoporama, Wix, WordPress and any other website.
What your visitors see
- A live countdown to Halloween in days, hours, minutes and seconds, in each visitor's own time zone.
- Your own text, for example "Our spooky Halloween sale starts in".
- Your discount code with a copy button, if you want to share one, such as SPOOKY15.
- A button to your Halloween collection or sale page.
- A small pumpkin button when the timer is minimised, with the number of days left. On phones it always starts as the pumpkin, so it never covers your shop.
It runs the whole season by itself
Set it up once and forget it. The timer only appears in the weeks before Halloween (you choose how many days, up to 60). On 31 October it switches to your Halloween message, like "Happy Halloween! Our spooky sale is on today." From 1 November it hides itself, and next autumn it comes back on its own.
Why a countdown timer sells more
A deadline you can see makes people act. When visitors see that there are only 3 days left, they are more likely to sign up, add to cart or come back on the day. A countdown also tells visitors that something is happening in your shop, which makes it feel alive.
- Build excitement before the sale. Visitors who see the countdown know when to come back.
- Make your discount code visible. A code in the timer gets noticed, while a code in the footer doesn't.
- Send traffic to your Halloween page. The button takes visitors straight to your costumes, candy or decorations.
Looks good on any website
The timer comes in Halloween colours: dark night purple with pumpkin orange. You can also use your own brand colour and font for the button. Place it in the bottom right or bottom left corner. It loads in its own little box, so it never changes the rest of your website, and it respects visitors who prefer less motion.

Questions and answers
When does the Halloween countdown end?
It counts down to midnight at the start of 31 October in your visitor's time zone. On Halloween day it shows your Halloween message instead, and from 1 November it is hidden until next season.
Can I use it on Shopify?
Yes. Paste the line of code into your Shopify theme. It also works on WooCommerce, WordPress, Wix, Dandomain, Shoporama and any website where you can add a script.
Will it slow down my website?
No. It is a small script that loads after your page, and the timer runs in its own box without touching the rest of your website.
Can I show a discount code in the countdown?
Yes. Add any code, and visitors can copy it with one click. You can see in your dashboard how many copied it.
